Personal memories
At the time I was living in London. I entered a competition in Metal Hammer in which the first prize was two tickets for Download 2003. You had to answer this "difficult" question: "What is the name of Iron Maiden's infamous mascot?" Hmm, I know that....
A couple of days later I get a phone call (I remember clearly I was standing at Liverpool Street Station) and some guy from Metal Hammer tells me I won!! This is just a few days before the festival, so my friend and me buy a tent, pack his car and head north. The festival was GREAT. Very hot and great atmosphere. And Maiden played a blinder. First six songs taken only from Beast and Piece, and hearing Wildest Dreams for the first time was a treat. I was back at work monday morning by 7am totally red from sunburning. Nice!
